T-5R don't hit the market very often. When they emerge they tend to be garage queens or clapped-out daily drivers.

HISTORY

This C43 AMG is one of 546 units produced for the US market in 1999. This high performance sedan packs some serious muscle under the hood, with a 4.3L V8 producing 302 horsepower and an equal number of torques backed up by a 5-speed automatic transmission. Current ownership is in S. Florida where the car is garage kept. The current owner has fitted new Michelin tires and had the AC system serviced and reports no other issues during his custodianship. The car has been driven just 1,000 miles over this ownership period and the seller states that he simply doesn’t have time to drive all of his cars and he hates to see this immaculate German Muscle Sedan sit dormant. Prior maintenance includes the replacement of the coil springs, rear main seal and a full brake service, just to name a few items.

features

The Euro Super Sedan’s looks are subtle and understated, offering a classy and timeless look. You won’t find any super flashy features, large spoilers or fender flares. This is a gentlemen’s car. The interior offers all the creature comforts you’d expect from a German car, a sunroof, A/C, heat, and power multi-contour seats. The dash, door panels, and center console are flanked by wood veneers. The hand assembled V8 is capable of propelling the C43 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. This engine was exclusively paired with the Mercedes-Benz 5G-Tronic five-speed automatic transmission. Advanced traction control optimizes the power application to the pavement and the Continental Extreme Contacts grip the road with confidence. This car has it all, it was built to turn, brake and handle like a sports car in late 90’s style.

The C43 AMG was introduced to the market in 1998 to support the C36 AMG’s attempt to prove its prowess over BMW’s E36 M3, the C43 continued production through to 2000 with a total of 4,200 units being produced. The W202 platform marks something significant to AMG fans, this was the platform that was first branded as a Mercedes Benz AMG. In earlier years AMG was a well known aftermarket tuning company that was later bought out by Mercedes Benz, the C43 was the first major success that was produced under that, now well know, name Mercedes Benz AMG.

The black leather interior shows immaculately well, it holds true to its original design with no modifications to note, apart from an aftermarket Alpine head unit. The AC blows ice cold and the heated and adjustable seats function correctly.

Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic, the paint shows in fantastic condition and the body presents like it did new, still sporting the original 17 inch AMG Monoblock wheels. The front and rear bumpers have been repainted under prior ownership.
