1994 Ford Escort RS Cosworth for Sale: 602 Reasons to Take It Seriously
Some cars are just tools. They get you where you're going with no frills and decent gas mileage. Our latest consignment, a 1994 Ford Escort RS Cosworth for sale soon at Cult Cars, is not one of them.
The Escort RS Cosworth was already a legend on paper. It was built to homologate a rally weapon, wore a rear wing you could land a plane on, and spent the 90s intimidating BMW drivers on wet European roundabouts. This example took that legend, decided it wasn't enough, and spent years and a small fortune refining the body and engine.

Let's Talk Numbers
602 horsepower and 636Nm of torque at 1.95 bar of boost. From an Escort. The engine is an Opliger build from the ground up: a linered block, a Cosworth "200" long-stud bottom end bored to 91.5mm, and Wossner pistons at an 8.2:1 compression ratio made for boost.

Boost comes from a Garrett GTX3582R Gen II turbo and a Forge RS500 intercooler, with Bosch Motorsport 1300cc injectors and a 3" Mongoose stainless exhaust. A Tial 44mm wastegate and dump valve keep things honest. An EMU Black ECU runs the show.
Power reaches the ground through a Fixit straight-cut gear kit, Quaife differentials front and rear, and a Sachs 4-puck sintered clutch that holds under serious boost.
It Stops as Hard as It Goes
Making 600hp is one thing. Scrubbing it off before the next hairpin is another, and this Escort doesn't flinch. Hi-Spec 6-pot calipers clamp 380mm front discs with EBC Redstuff pads. The rear runs a 320mm MT Motorsport conversion with Ferodo DS2500 pads. Gaz Gold coilovers and a full set of adjustable Compbrake arms keep the chassis planted.
Rotiform LAS-R 19x8.5 wheels hide behind aero disc covers, wrapped in 235/35 rubber at all four corners. The effect is sinister.

The Interior Is Basically a Rally Car with Manners
Inside, it's carbon fiber everywhere: A, B and C-pillars, WRC door cards, rear cards, the center console, the armrest, even the speedometer frame. The dash piece known as the "banana pod" is signed by Ken Block.

Red Hex interior trim, an OMP suede wheel, and an AutoMeter boost gauge finish the cabin. When the needle reads 1.95 bar, you want to see it clearly.
Outside, the Ash Black paint was fully refinished in 2021. The body carries a small library of carbon parts: front lip, middle lip, hockey sticks, bonnet vents, grille, exhaust surround, mirrors, and a Wolf rear spoiler. RS500 fog grilles, orange side repeaters, and darkened rear lights complete a car that was finished with intent.

Why This 1994 Ford Escort RS Cosworth for Sale Matters
The Escort RS Cosworth already has cult status with people who know the best 90s performance cars didn't need a horse or a bull on the badge to be terrifying. This build pushes that reputation further than most owners would dare. It's the car that makes anyone who had one on their bedroom wall go quiet for a second, then start asking questions they already know the answers to.
